In what ways does your media product use, develope or challenege forms and conventions of real media products?
My video uses many of the conventions of an acoustic video, such as finishing where we begin, the video starts with the band members inside a pub, there is some change of locations but at the end of the video we return to the pub in which the video began, this is typical of many acoustic videos to finish where they begin, though there is a slight difference with mine as it reverts back to the pub at the end but this time we are shown the utside of the pub rather than the inside.
Another convention is that the band member is involved in the story line wether it be him involved directly with the narrative or the narrative happening around him performing, this is one of the most common conventions within acoustic videos.
I also included the diagetic sound of the pub, which is more common within accoustic videos than others as they tend to have the performance aspect of the video in a pub or a similarr place where things are happening in the background but seem to be oblivious to the performer himself.
How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?
The ancillary texts are stills taken from the video itself, so in this perspective the video and ancillary texts relate well with eachother. the album cover itself relates to the feel of an acoustic song, whereas the inside of the album is designed to relate more to the band with the use of the microkorg.
What have you learned from Audience feedback?
From my first screening of my rough cut i learned that the audience was originally finding it hard to stay with the video as the narrative wasn't very clear and some shots held for too long. also it lacked the use of close ups on the singers face.
Taking on this information i went back to the editing processes and shortend clips that were too long, cleaned up a few of the cuts netween clips, shot and added some new clips to give a clearer veiw of the narrative and the additional close ups that were needed.
After this i rescreened my video to the audience and i was presented with much more possitive feedback, the narrative had been cleared up and made more sense and they found that they did not get tired of certain clips meaning that they were at a good length and kept the viewers attention.

Album cover
okay so heres ther album cover. Th inside pannels show a micro korg, this is to represents the bands sound. this is typical of many indie/ acoustic bands maybe not with the micro korg but with other nstruments including guitars, pianos and other such instruments. The front cover is a still taken from the video, this connects the album cover to the song itself.

Target Audience
The audience that our band is aiming at is the late teens early twenties, the age group of fun loving, party seeking, careless people. this is because the band's sound is summer time party and relaxation, the age group most likely to confor to this lifestyle is the one described above

okay so improvements
Right so as far as filming goes im not quiet there so ive asked leane for a bit of an extention as the pub we filmed in is closed for refurbishment till next monday which means we cant do those bits till next week, also kirstys unavaliable for this week for medical reasons so we wont be able to film anything outside of the pub either, but im sure a full recovery will be made and filming done by next week with the final cut all done and dusted, we'll just find out and see how it goes.

The crit
Okay so today we had our crit, it was good to see how everyone else got on wth their videos, especially kirsty as i got to see her cu of the video. there was many similarities in our videos but hers held more variety, which was one of the problems with mine, there was many shots that went on for too long and no real break up in the story line so it made little sense, i was appreciative of these coments and had noticed them myself whilst i was editing but wasnt sure how obveous these were. But one thing with this video is i did and still do want it to be very simplistic to go with the theme of the acoustic, i dont want too much happening as i feel so much change in an acooustic video such as this doesnt work too well. also the clapping at the begining im unsure about, i know id like some sort of sound there as before it was just dead sound but i think i need to find some low background noise from somewhere and use that as the voloume of cheering doesnt match the amount of people in the pub. but again taking on board these coments i need to film a few more bits and put them in and i feel like it will all be ready to send off, hopefully the filming should take too long but i will let you know how it goes.
